It’s crawfish season once again, which means one thing. It’s time to find out who has the best crawfish in St. Tammany Parish. This is easier than you might think. You don’t have to go from one crawfish restaurant to the next, taste testing your way to the best. Instead, you can attend the 14th Annual HFOS Crawfish Cookoff. Hosted by the Hospice Foundation of the South, this is the easiest (and tastiest) way to find out who has the best crawfish around. Get ready to dig into the fun.
What to Expect
This isn’t just a place to grab a crawfish or two. The festival will have over 45,000 pounds of crawfish, and up to 60 teams will boil them. With around 8,000 people expected to be in attendance, there will be enough crawfish to go around. Don’t be shy about getting your fill, either. You can eat all the crawfish you want when you buy a ticket.
Remember, this is about finding the best crawfish, so three celebrity judges will give them all a taste and name the winner. Then, you will know what goes into making the best crawfish.
This festival isn’t just about great food. It also includes entertainment. You can listen to music from Traded Moments, Rock Candy, Witness, and Marc Broussard.
There is also a Kids Zone at the festival. Drop the kids off at the zone so they can have a good time.
